The World Championships are starting

We came upon the realization this morning that the FIBA World Championships actually start like, immediately. Like, tomorrow.

We’re going to do our absolute best to make sure we watch these games untainted (ie we don’t want to know who wins until we see it), and luckily, NBA.com has made that task all the more easy by giving fans the complete TV schedule.

Everything is clear now, or at least it became clear once we waded through the initial broadcast and repeat broadcast, which the NBA has helpfully jumbled all onto one list. Here’s the rundown:

8/19/06 Saturday 1:00 AM USA vs. Puerto Rico ESPN2
8/20/06 Sunday 6:30 AM USA vs. China ESPN2
8/22/06 Tuesday 6:30 AM USA vs. Slovenia ESPN2
8/23/06 Wed 6:30 AM USA vs. Italy ESPN2
8/24/06 Thursday 6:30 AM USA vs. Senegal ESPN2

After that, we go into the playoff format next Saturday, with everything all done the following Sunday, September 3rd. (We think they call that La Septembre in La France and El Septembrio in El Spain. In the host country of Japan, it’s known as Super-Great A-1 September American.)

Also over on the NBA homepage, you can get the predictions of journalists from across the globe, who surely know a little more about the strength of the international teams than we do.

Everyone’s got the USA winning it all except for that French bastard Frank Lawlor and the delightful Simone Sandri, whose bio describes her as the co-host of NBA TV’s Basketball International, the United States correspondent for Sky Italia, Italy’s sports television network, and NBA columnist for Gazzetta.it.

All of this is to say we can’t wait for this packed schedule of international hoops, especially since it won’t interrupt our ability to search for housing in beautiful San Diego, thanks to the most helpful site we’ve ever encountered on the net, Rancho Santa Fe Homes For Sale.

Seriously, if we were gonna move to San Diego, which we’re not, we’d be all over this site, trying to learn everything we can about how to purchase a home in San Diego, especially RANCHO SANTA FE HOMES. Just look at these 10 hot tips for buying in the area.

Man-o-man, are we a whore excited about the possiblities that come with reading about buying homes in San Diego!
