Kenyon Martin is hurt

by The Cavalier on November 9, 2006

Mentally, we all know K-Mart is some combo of crazy and generally disgruntled.

On the physical side, he’s been mighty fragile for such a seemingly tough guy, although that seemed to have been all behind him finally.

Well, hot off of his Nuggets’ loss to the Knicks in the battle of disfunctional teams, Kenyon Martin is in need of surgery on his “good” knee, ie the one that didn’t have the dreaded microfracture procedure.

As if Denver didn’t have enough problems, what with the being winless and all. Worse yet, Martin doesn’t even know how it happened.

“Got to get it done. Got to get it cleaned out,” a solemn Martin said after the game. “It’s frustrating. I don’t know what to say. I worked my (butt) off so I wouldn’t have to go through nothing like this.”

Martin had chronic right knee pain for 2-3 days. But he isn’t certain how the injury occurred.

“That’s the most frustrating thing,” Martin said. “I have no clue how I did it or what day I did it,” Martin said.

Considering this is a cartilage issue, chances are it wasn’t an incident, K. We’re guessing at this point that your knees just kinda stink.

We suppose this isn’t really that large of an issue, considering Coach Karl doesn’t like you, anyway.

Not to pile on the Nuggets completely. The Knicks are no less disfunctional, just less injured and lucky enough to win on a Jamaal Crawford last second shot.

All’s good on the road for Zeke and the boys, which is good, cause as soon as they get back to NYC they’re going to hear it for calling out their own crowd for booing them too much.
