The Cavaliers have movement

by The Cavalier on November 2, 2006 · 22 comments

Lots to like in the Cavaliers victory over the Wiz last night, including but not limited to Larry Hughes looking like his old self, Drew Gooden happily and aggressively crashing the boards, and honest-to-Zeus movement on offense.

Off-ball screens, curls, cutting to the basket – it was wonderful. Some clear tightness due to jitters, but they eventually clamed down. LeBron was LeBron – Gilbert was decidedly not Gilbert, but we’ll let the Washington papers discuss.

Bill Simmons has his theories, as well.

As for us, there were a couple curveballs in ESPN’s coverage that the Roundie demanded to point out to you all.

(NOTE: Greg, we’ve always liked you, and we’re a little ashamed to admit we have no idea what the hell it is you do for us “a little bit on the side”. As long as you don’t ask for an office, salary, or benefits, we guess you’re welcome to continue doing it.)

(NOTE 2: Thanks to Mom for the heads-up. We missed it, despite watching it.)

(NOTE 3: Thanks also to Tivo.)

(NOTE 4: Additional thanks to anyone who can tell why the hell that happened.)

Did he say YAY sports or EA sports??? Hahaha…J/K!

I think he said “Eh Sports”, which is mostly about hockey but they do a real nice job with their video b-ball previews hosted by the Black Puckie.

When are the orange roundie “careful” t-shirts coming out? This is how you create a catchphrase people!

5 The Cavalier November 2, 2006 at 9:37 am

I’ve been thinking about that, but I’m not sure what to put between the two “careful…”s on the shirt.

6 rogerl November 2, 2006 at 10:21 am

I’m thinking it would have to be a whole series of shirts – one for each person roundie is warning.

Or careful . . . Piso Mojado . . . careful.

In making his Finals prediction, Greg Anthony said “I’m going with YAYsports, blah blah blah,” and picked the Cavs, and Wilbon made a noise.

It makes no sense, but I’ve replayed it a bunch of times and he definitely said it.

Are you sure he didn’t say EA Sports?
Evidence:

Greg Anthony did a little work for EA sports.

(Near the bottom where NBA All Star Weekend bullet point is)

And apparently, someone ran a simulation with EA Sports NBA Live ‘07, and the game picked the Cavs to win the East.

You don’t need validation from those punks on ESPN, right? Otherwise I apologize for bursting bubbles.

And to think Roundie now has a fan club that is waiting anxiously for T-Shirts with this catch phrase accross them. All this came about because of a simple post making fun of Chris Kaman…

Frank that was my thought and is probably right, but he didn’t say it correctly, because it came out YAY.

I need validation from only that sandwich on myspace. As long as he’s cool with me, I’m happy.
