(Sorry, all the pics from the Cavs-Hawks game made us sick. Besides, none of them fit in with our new favorite hobby.)
35% effort in the first half.
15 missed free throws.
Lots and lots of settling for jumpshots. (20 threes??? Again???)
Where the hell were Anderson Varejao and Z? This was a total halfcourt game – Z should’ve been getting it every time down and AV is AV. He needs to be out there.
Letting Tyronn Lue drive right down the lane unimpeded to send it to OT.
Same shit as last year – playing to the level of your opponent every single night. When you lose the Central by two games, think back to these last two games with CHA and ATL.
We haven’t read any of the postgame quotes, but if there’s any crap about “learning from this”, we’re firing off an angry email. This was the bullshit you said you learned last year Saturday.
Really pissed.
(NOTE: At least Shannon Brown saw time – might as well play him more and let him learn, Mike Brown. You’re not getting jack from the Snow/Wesley/Jones trio, especially on defense. That’s why a Tyronn Lue beat you tonight. The three of them are old and slow, and that’s all there is to it.)
(NOTE 2: Drew Gooden has been a beast so far, and was again against ATL with 21 and 14. We’re not mad at him.)

glad to hear shannon brown is getting time (i’m presently in asia and unable to watch any nba), but i think the real reason lue got that layup was more related to the karma of a couple of your earlier posts.
So does this post count as reverse karma?
I only saw a little of the game, but I did see a set with Jones AND Wesley out there at the same time. Ouch. Brown got in after Jones threw up some bricks. Why not give Brown and Gibson those minutes? They couldn’t do any worse than Wesley/Jones.
Roger that’s what I think. Jones/Wesley/Snow give nothing on offense anyway, and the more athletic/quick Gibson or Brown will at least be more able to stay in front of their men better on D. Their rotation will probably suck, but that’ll only come with experience anyway.
Stick Hughes at the point on O, and Brown is bound to give you something more at shooting guard just by virtue of his athleticism.
Agreed. I’ll notify Mike Brown.
the cavs let a win slipped away . it’s a real downer for the large crowd in the q arena . i think there is a lot of deadwoods in the cavs line up .i don’t see ‘em reaching even the easter conf. finals !
They are a big deal on “The Dan Patrick” show saying that Lebron walked off the floor before the game ended last night?
Cav, I know I’ve been gone for a bit…but you know I had to come by with a little salt for your wound…
it brought a smile to my face when Sean May blocked a LeTravel (or LeOffenseOnly) shot and then looked down on him as if to say “don’t bring that weak sauce in my lane”
yeah, walking off the court and abandoning your team before the game is over does not sound like NBA MVP or title material. MJ would never do that.
I think everyone was walking off the court early – they were all standing around with like 9 seconds left.
Who cares about the Cavs anyway??? Lakers baby!!!
P.S. I’m turning into the Lakers version of Zack K…
Thanks for the update Cavalier. I didn’t hear about it other than on the radio show where they kept playing the clip of the Hawks announcers going crazy like they won the WNBA Championship
It’s times like this that I wish Coach Brown was a little less milquetoast … or at least seemed more aggressive … just seems as though the team gets away with extensive stretches of pathetic possessions on offense that might dictate a time out and a good old-fashioned “what in the hell” speech … a few more losses like these and we’ll have to read again how LeBron lacks the killer instinct
Good read on it fios – I agree. Brown (I think) is a good x-o guy, and everyone seems to like him, but you never see him fired up at all.
I’m waiting for the “LeBron lacks killer instinct” stories and the “LeBron mental block free throw” stories. Of course, those will be followed by the “LeBron is leaving for NYC despite the fact that he has a new contract, what? he can sign for more money in Cleveland? LALALALA I can’t hear you” stories.
Good times.
I’m still not sure how or why David Wesley is in the league. He’s tiny AND he’s not fast or quick. (Is that even possible?) He’s an average shooter. A terrible point guard. His defense is extra suspect. Jones apparently could shoot and Snow for all his offensive ineptitude is a smart, tough defensive PG. Where does wesley fit in? in the NBA, not just with the Cavs.
