Tonight’s the night – Melo is unsuspended and ready to gear up against the Memphis Grizzles.
The Nuggets have certainly gone through their share of changes in the 15 games he’s been out – Earl Boykins is in MIL now, and of course Allen Iverson is in Denver.
As for how Melo is feeling about his return, by all accounts (meaning his own) he feels great.
“I have been going crazy for 36 days waiting to return,” Anthony wrote. “All my life playing basketball has come easy to me, but not being able to play has been the most difficult thing I have ever experienced as a player.
“I’ve spent this time off working on my game and reflecting on who I am. And who I want to be. I want all of you to know that I plan to be better, stronger and smarter on the court than I’ve ever been before.”
We’ll see how that goes – Carmelo seems to have one of these “wow, my life and outlook on said life has really changed because of this unsavory incident” things every 8-10 months or so.
Melo’s behavior and intention to follow BiggerFasterStronger is irrelevent – all that matters is the meshitude with Iverson. There’s nothing to really say or add except that we won’t know jack until we all watch the game tonight – it’s on NBATV, so that’s somewhat accessible to the masses.
We fully expect an energetic and juiced Denver fanbase, a temporarily (2 games) pass-happy AI, a scoring spree having Melo, and a Pau Gasol who is all but confirmed to be on the trading block.
(Danny Ferry – please get on the PHN to MEM and get PAU for LBJ.)
(Sorry for the low output the past few days. We’ve been entranced by the cutest picture of a Nintendo Wii and two Roundie Henchmen you’ll ever see.)
