The battle of the Next Nowitzki and the Current Nowitzki was one of only two games on the schedule yesterday, and it turned out to be a good one.
(It was no “pictures of Posh Spice arriving in LA“, but what is?)
Yeah, so Dirk’s Mavs and Bargnani’s (& Bosh’s) Raptors got it on in Canadia, and it was, as they say, a doozy. The team from Dallas ended up winning on a Josh Howard layup with .9 seconds left.
Is there anything better than that? Well…apparently the Bargnani kid is some form of “better”.
“He’s a better player than when I was 19 or 20,” Nowitzki said of the 21-year-old Bargnani. “He’s going to be a heck of a player. He’s a little more athletic than I even was back then. He can drive a little better than me.”
Those are nice words coming from the big German predeccessor, and we’re with him.
The Mavs continue to bore us, but at least they won with some style and flare yesterday. Bargnani is the future, now and forever more.
Now, if could only remember the kick-ass nickname someone gave us for him. We were chatting with someone and they said it – we then did the “oh man, I wish I’d thought of that” that we’re prone to do.
Whoever you are, you need not reveal yourself, but remind us what it was, because it’s driving us crazy. It was like “Barg-your-mommy” or something like that.

I’m revealing myself and DEMANDING credit. Although reading it now makes me think it really wasn’t all that clever to begin with. So um…maybe not.
Was it “Barg-your-mommy”?
That’s it? I remember it being better, too. I’m wrecking everything!
seriously. you are deducted one hardcore MO.
