There’s one thing about Orlando PF/C Dwight Howard that really sticks out to us – we like to watch him rebound.
That can’t be said about too many players in the NBA, past or present.
Our list is Dennis Rodman, Barkley, Carlos Boozer (yep), LeBron (when he’s Angry LBJ), and Jordan, just because we liked watching everything he did on the court.
Dwight Howard is now on the list, though – he does that thing where he just goes up and tears it out of the air, and you know he’s not fumbling it away or anything. We called him a “large” in the opening days of this season, and it’s ever more true each day.
Last night he snagged 25 boards to go along with his first-ever 30 point game.
Twas a win over the Warriors – Orlando’s fifth in a row, pushing them to second in the Eastern Conference.
“I was nervous,” Howard said. “I’m just glad we got the win. I’ve been trying to push myself in practice to get every rebound, every block, trying to score every time and also getting my teammates involved – and try to implement that in a game.”
Gotta love everything about this guy, and he’s headed for an All-Star spot without fail.
Will he start? Not if the voters have their say, and we have a feeling Shaq will come back the week before the game, just for the Vegas spotlight.
It’s too bad, because Howard deserves it, even if O’Neal had been playing all season.
The only thing really holding Howard back from being the best big man in the game is Yao, who can’t stay healthy anyway. So we guess he’s the best big man in the NBA.
There. We said it. Now that that’s out of the way, does anyone know why he’s wearing an arm-sleeve? And what’s with Andris Biedrens? That’s totally what we thought he looked like, but we’re still shocked that’s what he actually looks like.

I actually checked to see if Biedrens was really wearing that yellow arm band.
Sadly, no but your photoshop skills are improving, grasshoppa.
I tried to find the link on Deadspin that put Mr. Howard in close proximity to a porn star….couldn’t find it though. If he had some kind of an offensive repetoire (outside of dunking), he’d be unstoppable because right now they don’t run any offense through him.
Uhhhh … DWIGHT’S THE BEST BIG MAN BESIDES YAO??? … I love Dwight too, but aren’t you forgetting someone? BIG MAN. PLAYS FOR THE SPURS. THE KEYSER SOZE OF THE NBA.
Amare Stoudemire
According to Bill Walton, however, it’s Boris Diaw.
“…the best low-post player in the game!”
Walton has a chubby for the Suns.
He loves the free flowing game, Steve Nash, Mike D’Antoni and the rest. I hope he’s announcing tonight.
5 years ago, Shaq wouldve aninimously claimed that. 3 years ago, Tim Duncan would’ve. Now…its a toss-up
