Kwame Brown 1, Cake 0
Published by The Cavalier January 19th, 2007 in NBA, Merchandise, LA Lakers, Birthdays, Kwame Brown
Wow, we super apologize for not getting any posts up today.
Between the Cavaliers magnificent loss to POR…hell, this has nothing to do wtih anything but the whole Kwame Brown birthday cake story.
We’re obsessed, and have gone so far as to register KWAMEVSCAKE DOT COM.
The chances of us ever doing anything with it are nil, but we felt an intense desire to own it. In fact, we feel an intense desire to make sure Kwame Brown is now known forever not as a busted 1st pick or a creepy virgin. No, we want Kwame to always and forever be tagged as that guy who hates birthday cakes.
All this, even though he won’t be charged. And check out this write-up -
Brown apparently came out and perhaps thought that the cake was meant for Turiaf. In a moment of apparent confusion, Brown decided to destroy the cake.
A “moment of apparent confusion”? Yes, because if it had been Ronny’s cake, this would all make sense.
Whateva - we’re gleeful - we’ve even considered ditching the YAYsports! name and just changing the site to KWAME VS CAKE.
If we never sell any of these t-shirts, we really don’t care. They just need to exist. They need to BE.
We have ideas for like ten of these, but we also could use a snappy, simple logo. Something cartoony. Submit, submit, submit - we open this to the audience.

Kwame is a good person.
He like cakes and like Birthday men.
But the birthday man said “excuse me, man, go away and let me make a photo with a REAL basketball player”.
So, the reaction was reasonable.
“Brown apparently came out and perhaps thought that the cake was meant for Turiaf. In a moment of apparent confusion, Brown decided to destroy the cake.”
I think I laughed for like 5 minutes. That’s GREAT comedy right thuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuur.
