WHO SHOT MAMBA IPHONE

LeBron James is in Sacramento

For those of you fellow Cavaliers fans out there…it’s time.

The dreaded West Coast trip – the one we stink up every year. According to Brian Windhorst, whose word we’ll take on it, we’re 9-33 since the year 2000 out there. (Actually out here for us, since that where we reside.)

The thing is seven games long this time, and thank Zeus that LeBron, et al rolled off a bunch of wins before embarking on it – they can lose all seven and still be above .500.

As you can see, we’re not entirely optimistic.

Regardless, we’re coming back from our CavMalaise we suffered in DEC, as the team is playing with a lot more energry, if not actually that much better. Well, their record indicates they’re playing better, but…see…it goes like…

WILL YOU JUST PLEASE FIX THE OFFENSE, COACH MIKE?

Ahem.

Anyway, here’s how we see this trip coming down:

1/09 @SAC WIN
1/11 @PHX LOSE
1/13 @LAC WIN
1/16 @SEA WIN
1/17 @POR LOSE
1/19 @DEN WIN
1/20 @GSW LOSE

There, we said it – we see them doing a 4-3, when in actuality we’d be happy with a 3-4.

Now…that said, here’s what will actually happen, which for some reason is apparently different from what “how we see this trip coming down”:

1/09 @SAC WIN
1/11 @PHX WIN
1/13 @LAC WIN
1/16 @SEA LOSE
1/17 @POR LOSE
1/19 @DEN LOSE
1/20 @GSW LOSE

Why? Because the Phoenix game is the one they absolutely should not win. Therefore they will, allowing us to fully climb back onboard with how these guys roll.

Then we obviously lose to the crap teams – minus Denver, since they’re not really crap. They’re crap now, but they’ll have Melo and JR back for the Cleveland game, so that’ll be the non-crap Denver. That second week is also 4 games in 5 nights, which the Cavs dislike, despite just going 4-0 in one such stretch last week.

Toughest games will be Sacramento, Phoenix, Clippers, Seattle, Portland, Denver, and Golden State. The easy ones will be none.

The most diificult thing about this for us personally will be getting to watch the actual games. When they’re East Coastm the things are on at 4:30 and there are very few problems. West Coast – they start at 7:30, the sister comes home from work, and she insists on watching reruns of the old Patrick Duffy/Susanne Summers sitcom Step By Step, which she Tivos every day from ABC Family.

Honestly, that’s probably been the most surprising development about this entire NBA season.

I thought Melo was coming back the 22nd against Memphis?

I dunno – I rarely check my facts.

More stealing. Did you check the NBA Gossip-link? Laffable.

I had this surreal conversation (or surreal insofar as any sports conversation can be) with a friend who doesn’t follow basketball after he glanced at the standings:
Him: “Hey man, the Cavs have the best record in the East, I guess you were right about them”
Me: “Not really, they frustrate me, they could be much better”
Him: “So best isn’t good enough?”
Me: “Pretty much”

Exactly – I think I’ve turned the corner though.

I am peeking around the corner. I found this Brown quote particularly troubling: “I don’t care how bad we shoot the basketball. Championship teams are defensive teams. If we get stops, we’ll figure out how to score.” Ehhhhhh … that’s not exactly what I’d call coaching, it’s more “Defense A Pure Heart On Offense = Winning.”
Also, I would mock your sister’s taste in television save that I was on my very own injured reserve list with an “I am tired of working” a few years ago and found myself watching “Step by Step” and muttering, aloud, “That it wasn’t as bad as I thought and Dana is really hot.” I’m not religious but I can see why sloth is a deadly sin.

Yeah there were hot chicks on that show – whatever happened to that girl anyway? Was that before or after My Two Dads?

Hmm – she turned kinda generic as an adult:
