The Grizzlies are scoring

Ex-Memphis Head Coach Mike Fratello is likely sitting back this morning and saying something like, “Look at that point total my ex-team put up!”
Why? Because his ex-team put up a lot of points last night in their victory over the Golden State Warriors. This stuff isn’t difficult - quit making it so.
144-135 was the final score - no overtime necessary.
New/interim/former assistant Tony Barone (say it out loud) used his post-game forum with the media to lift the veil of secrecy that’s long covered the world of NBA coaching.
“We got tired halfway through the third quarter,” Barone said.
“I saw some eyes starting to cross in the huddle. So I asked them: ‘OK, would you like me to start calling plays from here on in?’ They said no, so I said: ‘OK, start running again.’ There’s no magic in coaching.”
The truth is revealed, Magic Bob Weiss - the truth is revealed. It really can be “just roll the ball out there and play”, which means our goal we’ve never had before this morning of one day being an NBA Head Coach is still alive.
It’s anyone’s guess what this means for Memphis as a franchise - is this their new style? Can Coach Tony keep this pace up? Does Electric Pau! still want to be traded to a contender?
Nobody knows the answers to these questions, and that’s what makes the New Grizzlies so exciting. (BTW - the answers are yes, maybe, and huh?)
Forget the parenthetical you just saw and get back to the meat - the New Griz are where it’s at, and we’re going to continue to never watch them because we don’t care, so you know it’s getting serious.

That 144 point game prompted me to pick up Stromile Swift in my fantasy league (he scored 26 with 9 boards and 4 blocks.)
I almost undoubtedly will rue this decision after the Grizzlies’ next game, when he records 5 points and 6 boards on 2 for 9 shooting.
