YAYsports! still has something in the basement
Published by The Cavalier January 1st, 2007 in Announcements, Blogs, Who Shot Mamba?, Wordpress
Well, we took a month off, did a bunch of other stuff, switched servers, moved everything over to Wordpress blogging software, threw the computer out the window trying to format Wordpress blogging sofware, went outside to get the computer, picked up the computer, was all like “Man, it didn’t even break or stop running - amazing!”, and also went to see our family.
We’re now back - healthy, happy, and refreshed. We also need to give our thoughts on what all went down in December - based on your emails, you remain curious what we think of things. For that we thank you.
As such, we’ll spend today doing a speed-read version of December. Tomorrow, we return to the present. We’ll begin in a moment, but first, some administrative frivolity:
1) We’re still working on the format. The site is functional, but not really where we want it.
2) Commenting is somewhat simple…we think. You shouldn’t need to login or any nonsense like that we can’t stand making people do. Just use your same name and email each time, and once we’ve approved one comment, you’re free and clear. Anyone who experiences anything wily with this, let us know via email please.
3) The bandwidth issues of the past are over.
4) Any posts from about October 2006 backward may or may not have the pictures included. Such is the price of switching blogging software. The format just doesn’t match in many cases. (Something to do with “_” vs “(blank spaces)” vs “%”. It’s beyond us.)
5) After much internal debate, we are, for the first time ever, having a links page for our fellow NBA bloggers. We’ll be working on it this week. If you don’t see yourself on there, send us your link. (Note: We have to execute some level of quality control here. If you’re less than six months old, we can’t list you.)
6) Yes, WHO SHOT MAMBA? will begin running…when it begins running.
Next for January 1? We’ll hit up the AI trade, the fight, everything else significant from December, and of course…the Cavaliers.
Happy New Year - we missed you all almost tremendously.
Thanks to Matt at Detroit Bad Boys DOT COM for his help with the Wordpress issues, and Jason at Low Post DOT NET for executing the server/software move.

Wow — by “Returns Jan. 1″ you actually meant “Promptly returns Jan. 1.”
And no, I’m not ashamed that I don’t have anything better to be doing (such as, say, sleeping) just four hours into the new year.
I’m dying to read The Cav’s account of the Iverson trade … and how AI left his arm sleeve behind for LBJ.
I’ve hit refresh so many times this month- thousands? Millions? I actually counted but am embarrassed to admit the actual figure- and now it pays off.
This is a great day. Well, if not “great” than maybe “grate”; we’ll see how it goes.
Arm sleeves are bourgeois!
Im in Argentina (OLE!) and seriously still made it a point to come see if you would actually make it back by the first. We should slang those Roundie shirts outside of Staples Center when I get back. Happy New Year! Ronnie Turiaf: OLE!
Boutros-Boutros Ghali!! Welcome back and Happy New Year!
I really didn’t know what to expect when I clicked on ‘A Bazooka’, but I guess I shouldn’t've been surprised.
Just promise me that after this fight it’ll be out of your system and you’ll go back to telling war stories at your Italian restaurant.
