If Utah All-Star forward Carlos Boozer (and his wife) have anything to say about it, that “Melo and Josh Howard are All-Stars” thing isn’t going down.
Despite doctors saying he’s down for 4-5 weeks, Booz is claiming he might be able to return in time to play in Vegas.
“I’m hoping to (play). Obviously I won’t know until we get much, much closer.”
“[Four to five weeks is] the typical, like a normal person,” Boozer said. “But I also had both doctors tell me they also have had clients back in two to three weeks.”
We admire the spirit here, but there’s a couple things to keep in mind.
One, if he’s back for the All-Star Game, that means (barring another injury) that he’s back for the March 17th game at Cleveland. We all know this isn’t happening.
The other thing to float about here is that normal people don’t take an entire season to recover from a pulled hamstring, which is exactly what Carlos did upon signing with the Jazz. A broken leg is worse than that, from what we’ve heard.
Anyway, we long ago retired our Boozer grudge, and we’re actually kinda rooting for his return – for some reason the drama around Carmelo possibly being shut out of Vegas fascinates us. (Because we’re a jerk.)
