Darko Milicic gots the ball

One of the biggest question marks of this offseason is gonna be what the Orlando Magic do about free-agent-to-be Darko Milicic.
While it used to be about getting playing time when he was with Detroit, it’s now “does he have the desire” with Orlando.
He’s got the tall working, and seems to be quite skilled. Of course, he’s still young, so there’s that. Does he want it, though? Is he a good long-term investment?
With Tony Battie out recently, Darko’s been starting, and last night he put up 21/8/4 in a Magic win over the Blazers. CONFUSION reigns.
Milicic, quiet and sullen when he arrived, can be seen clowning with teammates. He also has averaged 12.7 points in the four games he has started for Battie.
Coach Brian Hill might have delivered Milicic the best news. He said that Milicic will start alongside Howard even if Battie is able to play with a splint on his hand.
“Just playing with Dwight, it’s really great and this was my best game,” Milicic said. “As soon as I got here, I tried to focus on Orlando and my future here.”
We love it how he clowns now - that’s the sign of someone ready to break out. (”As long as it’s not gayness clowning,” said Tim Hardaway.)
Really though - it’s tricky. When you look at what even marginal big men (See: Nene, French Samuel Dalembert) get on the market, a young Darko is easily going to command about $9-10M per.
That’s just so much for someone who might give you like 10/7 - no matter how foreign he is.
The best idea we can come up with is for Orlando to shut down their franchise and reopen as a soccer team - a foreign, gayness soccer team.

Darko needs the Dark-o of a northern city; all that Florida sunshine makes you soft (except, maybe, if you’re Tim Hardaway). BTW, this Lakers-Cavs game is a good one; anyone else watching/listening to it? Oh, and if you feel like it, can I recommend the video on my blog for an “explosion”?
