Eddy Curry is winning the game, yet Lamar Odom is losing it

The Lakers and Knicks met up in LA last night, and the result of the game leaves an unbiased observer wondering which angle to take on things.

Isiah’s team won on a shot by Eddy Curry, which was then followed by an errant Lamar Odom heave that did nothing. The whole thing raises issues of a certain significance.

On one side of the battle, the NYK have matched their pathetic win total of 23 from last season. On the other side, the LAL has now lost four games in a row, and are dropping quickly in the standings.

Neither team is yet in danger of getting into (NY) or falling out of (LA) the Playoffs, but we can’t help but start to float such things out there after this.

We choose to go the Knick route for today, since their danger zone is much more real, being only 3 games out of a Playoff spot and playing in that awful division.

“I think from last year, knowing what we went through and to reach this point, it’s more gratifying being at this point,” Marbury said. “We know that we weren’t that bad last year. Despite the circumstances, we’re a way better team than what we portrayed last year. This year our approach is totally different, new system, new coach.”

Moments before, Marbury had signed a pair of his “Starbury” sneakers for Laker Ronny Turiaf, who had burst into the Knick locker room. Turiaf was way too happy, considering the Lakers have lost four straight.

Yeah, we were cool to get into all this Knick stuff,a nd how Isiah (assuming the NYK win at least one more game) has successfully shown improvement over last year…until that last part about French Ronny.

We’ve been thinking it for awhile, but we’re now convinced that Ronny Turiaf could potentially be the most entertaining player in the NBA from a “non-basketball” standpoint.

Don’t forget:

1) He’s French.
2) He’s seemingly always jovial.
3) He was present at Kwame v Cake I.
4) He’s French.
5) He did this.

And now he’s giddy at the prospect of snagging some signed Starburys? Los Angeles needs to buy Dan Steinberg out and start up the LA Sports BOG, because we get the feeling French Ronny is a goldmine just sitting there waiting to be dug into.

GO PISTONS!
