In a warm-up activity for All-Star Weekend in Vegas, Timberwolves rookie guard Randy Foye was arrested early Monday as a result of a fight.
Here’s how it went – Foye and two “younger cousins and, like, people who I grew up with for 15-plus years” were driving home from somewhere at like 2 in the morning.
The two “younger cousins and, like, people who I grew up with for 15-plus years” were arguing, and Foye thought the best thing to do would be to pull into a parking lot and let them fight. The cops came, arrests were made, and Foye resisted arrest.
Even though he was apologetic and promised he’d never be around fighting or arguing family members ever, ever again (good luck with that), Foye still tried to defend his actions to some extent, citing his ability to not get injured during the event.
“I knew what I do for my profession, I can’t try to break up anything,” he said. “Even if you’re trying to break up a little tussle, you get your hand in there and someone makes a mistake even if they don’t mean it and grabs or gets ahold of your finger or wrist, you get it broken or messed up. So my whole thing was, whatever they were going to do, let them do it. Then once they solved it, get back into the car and then you drive back home.”
Somehow we don’t think this is exactly how it went, but we like the concept of this type of rational thought when two of your “younger cousins and, like, people who I grew up with for 15-plus years” are about to throw down in the backseat or wherever.
You just pull over, let the two “younger cousins and, like, people who I grew up with for 15-plus years” fight, and then when one of them is finally knocked unconscious, you pick him up, throw him in the backseat, and drive home with the winner riding shotgun.
Because of his violent victory, you must of course spend the ride preaching about how the winner is your favorite “younger cousin and, like, person who I grew up with for 15-plus years” of the two.

That’s so weird, that’s the same approach I take with the local kids expect the words “offer them money to fight” and “run inside and lock the doors when their parents show up” should be inserted somewhere.
