We just want to take a moment to note that about 2 and a half years ago, we used to violently argue to our father that Sasha Pavlovic should be getting minutes, because dude can play.
Just to follow-up on that here in 2007, Sasha Pavolic led the Cavaliers to victory over the Lakers this afternoon.
This is all a little disjointed because we’re in a bit of a hurry, but here you go:
1) Yes, Boobie Gibson has a very nice jumpshot…but he also is effective on the drive. Let him do it.
2) Sasha Pavlovic is quickly making Larry Hughes a nice piece to trade away, if anyone would be suckered into taking him.
3) LeBron is becoming a headcase. Between the free throw woes making him hesitant to drive and all the stories about how he’s struggling…you can tell it’s all whirling around in his head while he’s out there. This needs to get straightened out – hopefully a good weekend of spanking strippers in Vegas does the trick.
4) Did anyone else notice (we think it was in the 2nd quarter) when Sasha snagged a rebound and Snow came over to get it from him? Sasha looked at him for a moment, then took off down the court and passed it to LeBron, who then touch-passed it to Varejao for a layup. A true fast break – OLE! That moment Sasha took note of Snow standing there was classic, and a perfect example of where the divide between Coach Mike and good basketball is.
That’s about it – there are still major offensive problems here, but we’re open to what the team is doing at this point. Energy and hustle can cover a lot of this stuff until it’s fixed or Coach Mike is set free – as we’ve said before, the roster isn’t the problem in CLE.
Interesting to note that the ascension of Sasha is running concurrent with the ascension of Jason Kapono in Miami, who helped the Heat beat the Spurs in the other ABC game.
Why, says you? Well, Kapono was drafted by the Cavs, who let him go in the expansion draft to the Bobcats, then traded a 2nd round pick via CHA to Utah for Pavlovic.
It was something like that. Basically, Kapono was out and Sasha was in. For the record, we never understood why Kapono wasn’t allowed to play, either. Every time he got in back then he would score, and shot like over 40% on threes even back then.
Once again, the conclusion is that we know what we’re talking about. All the jokes and the rugged handsomeness are considered bonuses.
(The bonus is for you, btw – for us, alas…it’s a curse. Try being this talented and good-looking. Go ahead and try. Just for a day. It’s hell on Earth.)

Good win by CLE today… I’m happy to hear that Sheed is looking forward to the final game before the break against the Spurs rather than tomorrow night’s game against the Clip joint…
Hopefully Maggette’s still sitting on the bench tomorrow night… it sounds like it’s going to be a long night already…
Good win though by CLE… Sasha is legit.. hopefully he doesn’t end up like that guy from the old “Step by Step” show and start beating up his wife/girlfriend because his name is Sasha…
For real? But he was the lovable dimwit!
does this mean sasha is gunna ride the pine as a punishment for a good game like Gibson did?

I said the same thing about Sasha (although in a much more abstract way) 2.5 years ago!
