Scoop Jackson’s Orange EXPLOSIONS

by The Cavalier on February 3, 2007 · 8 comments

We must admit – that (we assume) one of you took the time to comment as “Orange Roundie” on Scoop Jackson’s latest ESPN column fills us with joy and gratitude.

Pau Gasol doesn’t seem to realize that when he talks to Spanish papers about wanting to play in CHI and elsewhere, these things called “translators” allow the people of Memphis to read those words.

Melo gets in a car accident, goes on to score 33, still hopes to make All-Star team. Wht drama awaits him today?

Paul Allen bought back the Blazes arena, which we assume means the team is in much less danger of leaving town.

SLAM does the Air Jordan IX, which was a sweet return to a simpler design.

HoopsAddict gets mentioned in magazine, accepts Academy Award.

Apparently something called a Ryan Hollins can dunk from the free-throw line off of two feet.

Gilbert challenges DeShawn Stevenson to handicapped, one-handed three-point contest, comes away $20K richer. Here’s the vid:

Vlade Divac gets his drunk on in the streets of L’Europe.

Stephon Marbury pretends to be a good teammate by being angry about Eddy Curry not being an All-Star. (Eddy Curry shouldn’t be an All-Star.)

Ummm…that’s 14 straight losses for the Celtics. FOURTEEN. IN A ROW. WITH NO WINS.

At least the devil and the angel are speaking 1 language. unlike Manu in the previous post…

ZAKK there’s protocol for that?

That comment ain’t there anymore on the Scoop column. Times truly are bad for the Roundie.

The Cavalier, did you see the recent SLAM Magazine interview with LbJ where he was asked about the play-offs? He’s not even in the same book as Coach Mike, let alone the same page. Lebron said “So we’re pretty much geared toward the playoffs, just like some of the better teams in the league.”, among other things. When Coach Mike was asked about this, he responded “no no no no no no no”, and that’s a direct quote, ha.

“Just like some of the better teams in the league”. I guess you’d consider yourself one of the better teams in the league by making it the Eastern Semis and pounding the Golden State Warriors… oh yeah, and the other “marquee” win against the Wiz.. on opening night.

Does sweeping the Spurs count as “marquee?”

not in a “down” year by their standards.. Spurs aren’t even really being talked about right now as serious contenders out West…
