Hey all,

Red here, checking in from the grave in lovely Falls Church, Virginia…

I’ve long thought Paul Pierce is overrated since me Lucky Charms drafted him in 1998. I mean let’s be honest, how can you call a guy “tough” when he’s basically injury prone?

Also, how tough is he really when he can’t drive himself to the hospital after getting stabbed 11 times? If you’re waiting on guys like Tony Battie to be your savior well you’re going to find yourself counting on a guy that 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds a game, and in the game of life, much like in the NBA, that really doesn’t amount to a hill of beans.

Thanks a lot for your time, and don’t so sensitive. Those hideous “alternate” uniforms are ugly by the way….

for those that missed it, Cavalier was actually saying that Paul is TOO much of a workhorse and that he should tank the season and start complaining like Vince Carter did

for what it is worth, I think Pierce is just letting Wyc, err, Danny know that he wants to get some help this summer, ….well DUH!

You think Paul Pierce is lazy and complains a lot? I think you have been watching the wrong guy. Please tell me how many games in his career he has missed before this season. Also, there was a period when paul could have been labeled a whiner. That period was about 2 or 3 years ago when Doc Rivers began his tenure as head coach. Since then Paul has been a perfect pupil in an EXTREMELY less than perfect situation. Furthermore, I seriously question your knowledge about the current NBA and its players. when you called Paul “ironman” Pierce lazy, I had to wipe the vomit off of my computer screen before I could continue reading. Please get your facts straight before you TRY to call out one of the most reliable and consistent players that the NBA has to offer.

I listened to this interview on the radio, and you seem to have taken what he said the wrong way. First off, if you are going to question Paul’s motivation to play the game, you obviously have not followed his career AT ALL. This guy is a horse, and absolutely loves the game of basketball, and is one of the most relentless competitors that the game has to offer. When he said “how much longer do I got to play?” he did not mean “How much longer do I have to play this game.” What he was actually saying was “how much longer will I be able to play.” See, I’m not sure if you know this, but people get old. When people get old, their bodies begin to slow/break down. Paul wants to win a championship badly, and he has always played at a championship level. However; he has never had a teammate that is/was even close to being on his level. Paul is 29. THis means that he probably has about 4-5 years of elite basketball left in his tank (if that). Therefore, when he says “how long do I got to play?” he is really saying, “I’m getting old and I want to eventually win a championship, but I am fighting against time. The last thing that we need is a rook that will just be entering his prime when I am about to retire. Lets try to get some established players, and actually win something.”

So lets calm down with telling Paul that he only has to play until his contract is up, b/c he knows that he only has to play for the duration of his contract, and I gauruntee that he will continue to play beyond that due to his sheer love for the game and his competitive drive, OK buddy???

Amen to that, brother. On Valentine’s Day too. I’m sure all their fans were thrilled. It also says something about the Bucks when a team with 18 losses in a row is 5.5 favorites, and everyone knew they would cover. Good–no, great times.
