Allen Iverson is getting surly

by The Cavalier on March 10, 2007 · 16 comments

There’s not much to say about the Cavaliers on this day, save for their impending match-up with a nearly fully-armed and operational Milwaukee Bucks squad, so we have little choice but to touch on last night’s Pistons-Nuggets game.

(This is partially to get FIOS and Boney off the very top of the page. There have been complaints – both domestic and international, making this the first time we’ve actually pissed off the entire world at once. Have pride guys – it’s a special day.)

Alas, to our dismay the Pistons won, although their victory is possibly a major turning point for the Nuggets. If you haven’t seen Allen Iverson’s postgame comments, go watch Sportscenter and/or NBATV right now.

They could best be described as “angsty”, and here’s a transcript to how he answered every question. (At least the ones we saw.)

All this accompanied by a blank stare. We have no idea how long it went on for, but it may, with the proper time and nurturing, be right up there with the infamous “practice practice practice” press conference of 2000-something.

DEN now stands only 2 games above SAC & NOK for the last playoff spot in the West, and then 2.5, 3, and 16.5 over MIN, the GSW, and Pau Gasol’s Memphis Grizzlies All-Stars, respectively.

Whether they can remain in their current 7 position is debatable. One thing we’ve learned over the years is that when Allen Iverson talks either a lot or a little, it means either a lot or a little.

Combine this will a brand new infant version of Carmelo Anthony running around, and the next 5-6 weeks could be completely crazy for Coach George and Co.

It’s starting to look like that “great” 4 point win over Detroit in Detroit was just a waste considering how “great” the “team” is playing tonight in MIL.

Oh well… Larry Hughes so far – 1 of 9!!!! 0 of 4 from 3!!!!

uh oh, IRA NEWBLE SIGHTING!!!!

I bet the current 5 of Bron, Snow, Varejao, D. Marshall, and Newble will have the best Lenovo stats…

2 Boney March 10, 2007 at 10:32 pm

cut it to 5!!! Newble with a 3!!!

I’m happy to see that the 29 foot 3 point BOMBS are falling tonight for ‘Bron.

Steve Francis, doing the Cavs dirty work, without even being on the team. Gracias Francise.

Boney being able to not play all that great but still win on the road is the sign of a decent team.

When LeBron remembers that he’s LEBRON JAMES and not lebron james, the Cavs can play with anyone.

Poor Boney. You really ought to wait until the game is over to gloat.

Complaints?!?!? Does this mean my 45-part series entitled, “Things I Know, Think I Know, Have a General Familiarity With Or Might Have Read On A Cereal Box And Accepted As Fact” is canceled?

“When LeBron remembers that he’s LEBRON JAMES and not lebron james, the Cavs can play with anyone.”

No.

Does anyone know why the hell Memphis traded Battier for Swift?

8 Manu Ginobili March 11, 2007 at 9:37 pm

Well, they were obviously with the gayness Carlo. Miami with six in a row, what the hell is going on here???!!!???!!one!!? Me encanta practicar deportes y YAYSPORTS! MLB.

So I’ve been playing a lot of NBA 2K7 since I came home on Spring Break, and LeBron scored 87 points against me in a game.
87.
And Daniel Gibson hit a game winning 3-pointer against me.

I’m pretty sure a ’06 draft pick was included (from Houston to Memphis). Otherwise, simply to free up some salary dollars so they old ownership could make the team easier to sell. But it surely made their division even more stacked.

rudy gay was included in the trade.

13 Carlo March 12, 2007 at 5:24 am

Ah yeah, that’s how it went down.

Manu; I got two words for ya son, hair plugs.

My mistake, ‘Manu’ had already answered the Battier trade question.

According to the New York Times, Isiah Thomas is going to get a multi-year extension from the Knicks.

Everybody wins.

HAHAHAHHAHAHA! You’re kiddin’, right?

I was angry about Milwaukee losing that game, but then again, it’s Milwaukee.

I thought it was funny how ‘Bron was mean muggin’ at the end of the game as if it was some big accomplishment that he carried his team in the 4th quarter, and it was somehow the crowd’s fault the Cavs won… he was yelling and mean muggin’ just like A. Mourning does…

1 more game in DET.
