Ron Artest went Philly on a human female

We’re going to tread carefully here with what follows, as we’re not in the mood to jump to conclusions regarding the guilt of Sacramento forwards at the moment.

Ron Artest was arrested this morning for allegedly beating up and/or injuring a woman in his estate type place in the suburb of Loomis.

Deputies arrested Artest on suspicion of domestic violence and using force or violence to prevent the woman from reporting a crime, sheriff’s spokeswoman Dena Erwin said.

“He and the female were in the house and separated,” Erwin said. “The deputies interviewed them and took Mr. Artest into custody.”

That all speaks for itself – what we don’t understand is why people call Sacramento a cowtown when they have suburbs named Loomis. That’s right up there with Metropolis in terms of sounding non-cowtown.

On an entirely different subject, we went to a pretentious Los Angeles restaurant yesterday where they had something in the meal we wanted called “loodens”. That would’ve been fine, except every item on the menu had a “loodens” – guryer, marchov, glazed sivoise, etc, etc, etc.

The waitress was pretty annoyed at us because we asked her why they didn’t have stuff like they have at Denny’s, where you don’t have to ask how (and what) the loodens are today. She didn’t have an answer, so we came back with a “How are the loodens today, by the way?”

That was right before our precognitive visions of Ron Artest smacking around a hot babe. We’re bring that phrase back, by the way. “Hot babe”. That’s great.

UPDATE: SacTownRoyalty is all over the press conference – Ron has been “excused indefinitely”. As far as the crime, there was a cooking pot and a windshield involved. No hot babe gets out alive!

(We’re 4 minutes in on HOU/CLE and Yao is bent over with lung exhaustion, which happens when you haven’t played in many weeks. LeBron shot a three-pointer – his first try of the season. Ooh – Larry Hughes just shot one, too. Awesome.)
