This just in folks….the Celtics aren’t tanking, they are just preparing for their run to the NBA Finals next season. Their roster is chock full of young, intelligent, talented players who are primed for a dream season in 2008. I could see this team being the team that brings the City of Boston together while achieving world peace at the same time. You don’t believe me? Let’s look at this star-laden roster:

Paul Pierce: Besides being injury prone a big whiner and falling apart….he’s the greatest. Certainly the next MJ.

Al Jefferson: No doubt, the guy is a beast. That is, until you double down on him. Either way, I give him props because he is actually improving.

Wally Sxzarevaiacback: A)Nice name, B)Nice game….do you sense the sarcasm in either of those? He did attend Miami of Ohio and there are some lovely women at that school.

Delonte West: Well, he has that left handed thing going for him I suppose. Possibly the next Tiny Archibald? No, no…the next Kenny Anderson! (Is he still on the Celtics roster?)

Ryan Gomes: Never has a more honest player been seen in the NBA. A college superstar!

Tony Allen: *thud*

Gerald Green: Holy crap! Have you seen this guy dunk? I mean, he can really dunk. Really, really dunk!

Rajon Rondo: He’s shooting a sparkling 20.7% from 3 pt range this year. Nowhere to go but up!

Sebastian Telfair: Oh, young Bassy. I don’t fish much but if I did, I would throw this one back.

Allan Ray: Just today I was sitting in my office and someone said to me, “Never trust a man with two first names!” That seriously happened! Then, I wrote a post with Allan Ray in it, it’s meant to be!!!

Kendrick Perkins: The Celtics may be better off with Sam Perkins but ol’ Kendrick will come around one of these days.

As you can easily see, the Celtics have not only set themselves up to have a successful season next year…..but they are probably going to win the NBA Title. They don’t even need Greg Oden or Kevin Durant!! Not only that, but Doc Rivers will win the Coach of the Year Award and Danny Ainge will win the Executive of the Year Award in 2008. I have no doubt about it. Plus, all of the experience that these young, quality players are picking up right now when the Celtics are tanking playing out the season…….Priceless.

Celtics games look wicked fun. That Leprechaun has sunglasses on indoors. That’s crazy! I bet if you talked to him a lot he’d say “radical” a lot. If only Red Auerbach were still with us so he could enjoy the proud tradition he built.

Correction: Miami OH has THE hottest females out of any school in the midwest! It’s true, I’ve done the research and everytime the results are the same. Where else could a guy (me) get turned down 101 times at IU, then go to MU and score immediately? ONLY IN AMERICA MY FRIENDS, ONLY IN AMERICA!!!

this would be funny if any of us had implied that a) the celtics are going to win the championship next year, b) paul pierce is the next MJ, c) they don’t need oden or durant or d) rivers and ainge were awesome leaders.

when you want talent evaluation folks, jack cobra is your man. forget charley rosen! forget everybody! “Jack Cobra” has the book on every player in the NBA! And he’s funny, too.

9 more days until april 26th

Thank you Dave. I knew you would come around sooner or later.

Arin…I’m not sure that makes sense. If Miami’s girls are hotter, which they are I know for a fact, they would have turned you down as well. Which, I’m guessing, is probably what happened.

The problem isn’t the players, it’s the city.

Move them to Portland… Maine and they will soar! Like an Eagle!

    How about this:

Paul Pierce never wins an NBA title in his career.

I don’t see how a guy that was originally going to play baseball then chose to play basketball is a guy you want making personnel decisions anyway. Picking former players has really only worked out for 2 guys, Dumars, and Larry Legend (until he started picking up the thugs in Indiana *please don’t try to sick Jesse Jackson on me for calling them thugs*).

Besides, Paul Pierce isn’t “injury prone” like misses games. He’s injury prone because he always has nagging injuries that don’t quite keep him out but they keep him from having “great” games… I personally don’t like Pierce, especially since he “pops” his jersey every time he hits a game winner (much like LeBron and Gilbert Arenas do). Act like you’ve done it bef…. oh that’s right, you haven’t.

well if you chose to dislike every player who pops his shirt, you would have to hate pretty much everyone in the NBA and college basketball.

i love paul pierce. truly. his image around the league is wrong, wrong, wrong.

I don’t remember LeBron ever popping his jersey.

It is looking more and more like you nailed this prediction. The Celtics are headed for the 2008 NBA championship. You are a great predictor, I hope you made the bet when you wrote this article and took the 100-1 odds at Vegas!
