Dirk Nowitzki is frustrated and German

by The Cavalier on April 28, 2007 · 9 comments

While a lot of people are startled and/or aghast at the Warriors going up 2-1 on the Mavs as of lasterday, we’re more surprised to find out that Dirk Nowitzki is from Germany.

That last part of that sentence is a lie. In reality, it’s late Friday night and we were trying to get this post up so we wouldn’t have to do it Saturday morning. We’re giving up as of the end of this sentence, and will resume in the am.

There. It’s not Saturday morning. Having thought this over, we can say with some degree of confidence that we’ve never done two Golden State Warriors-centric posts in a row.

Guess that’s all changed – here’s what the big German person said about the complete blowout of a game and the Mavs current predicament.

“Our goal is to beat them and that’s really what we’ve come here to do,” Mavs swingman Jerry Stackhouse said. “Nothing less than just winning this series. That’s all it’s about. Whether you win it in four games, win it in five games or win it in seven games, it’s about winning this series and moving on.”

Well, that wasn’t Dirk talking at all, was it? Beyond that, it wasn’t even an interesting quote.

There’s no springboard to hilarity, no segueway to extrapolation, no anything. Second day bcak and we’ve already derailed, heading straight into some kind of non-focused content abyss.

The truth of the matter is writing one post over a period of two days is ill-advised. We’ve now learned that. Take that with you on your day’s journey, friends.

Even while recognized worldwide as one of the masters of this blog game, we’re still learning about it. Much like the Warriors will learn that all this fun and excitement will be forgotten when the Mavs win in six.

(We said that for you zack – only for you. In no way do we actually believe it anymore, which means the Mavs could, within 7-10 days, become the absolute #1 story of the offseason, after WSM?, of course.)

This is looking really bad for the Mavs…is it the curse of Nelson?

This is looking really bad for the Mavs…is it the curse of Nelson? Is Avery as good in the playoffs as in the regular season?

Mavs win on Sunday and it’s all tied up…but the blowouts are troubling for them, yeah.

Pistons up 3-0. Bulls up 3-0.
Time to join the club or all the yapping will be deafening.

Warriors have the Mavs number and it is 867-5309. No, it’s actually 1-876-OHH-SHEET! No hate on ZackAttack, but I’d like to see Golden St. win it or at least take it to 7.

Asian Rita . . . ha.

With the early summer, DWade will have plenty of time to work on his putt and get in Barkley’s five.

Yeah, but he also won’t have an excuse not to watch Barkley’s old highlights. “Sexxy…”
