Like we said, Lakers-Suns was really the first game of these Playoffs we’ve been able to watch, despite our implication in the previous post that we’d been bored by ORL-DET.
(In fact, we were bored by it – by the very existience of it.)
Anyway, the Lakers went ahead and rebirthed themselves last night with a win over the Suns here in LA. It’s significant for several reasons, the first of which is that the days leading up to this game were filled with nothing but “the Lakers grate on each other” stories.
After the big victory, words coming from mouths in the locker room went quite the other way.
“We were out there having fun,” forward Luke Walton said. “Everyone was jumping up and down and excited for each other. That was what we’ve been missing the last few weeks. I just hope we can carry this newfound chemistry to Sunday. I hope we don’t start hating each other.”
Why only carry it to Sunday, Luke? Take it all the way to like the following Tuesday – you’ve got seven games to play, yo.
The eternal question rises at this point…who’s the more interesting squad – disfunctional Lakers or happy Lakers?
Whoops – we just took a break to go find a picture for this post, and the Raja Bell jem fell right into our beat-up little hands. Seriously – we he posing for us on this?
For the record, we like both happy and disfunctional Lakers equally, and right now is perfect for us because they seem to fluctuate on a semi-daily basis.
(This seems like such an old joke, but Raja Bell DOT COM? The countdown is over. It now just says “COMING SOON”. We’d like to think we had some hand in that – we really would. If one of you could just go ahead and credit us with that, we’ll consider that closure.)
