Shaq and Kobe don’t like Jerry Buss

UPDATE: Kobe has officially asked for a trade…wow.
The Lakers are a complete mess at the moment, but as of this morning, there’s a little more to it than that.
For some reason, three years later, Shaq and Kobe have moved to the forefront of the situation in Los Angeles. At least for us.
If you haven’t been following Lakerville in the past week, Kobe Bryant has been going nuts on the organization for not building a contender around him in the post-Shaq era.
Things escalated yesterday when Kobe went on a couple LA radio shows and called owner Jerry Buss a liar, accusing him of talking out of both sides of his talking hole. (”We’ll build for right now around you” to Kobe vs “We’re building for 5 years from now” to others.)
Not only that, but Kobe has lashed out at how the franchise has allowed him to take all the heat from the public and media regarding the Shaq trade. He claims that Dr. Buss told him in February of 2003 (2004? We can’t remember.) that he was trading Shaq no matter what. He felt he was breaking down and didn’t want to pay him the $20M per he wanted.
Whew.
Anyway, jumping to Kobe’s defense yesterday? Shaq, who says he believes Kobe completely.
“I believe Kobe 100 percent,” said O’Neal, reached yesterday while in Los Angeles on business. “Absolutely. There’s no doubt in my mind Kobe is telling the truth. I believe him a thousand percent. I would have respected Dr. Buss more as a man if he would have told me that himself, because I know he said it. But he didn’t [tell me]. He never said a damn word to me.”
100 percent, 1000 percent - what the difference? It’s all a big disaster, especially when you add in Jerry Buss’s DUI the other day, and then slap Kwame Brown needing complete reconstructive surgery on his ankle.
Everyone is ready to say the only solution is to trade Kobe, and we’d have to agree. Only because it makes the summer more exciting, though - seeing Kobe in another uniform would be weirder than seeing him wear #24.
THAT SAID, if you’re gonna trade him, the only true solution here is obvious - Kobe to the Heat for Dwyane Wade and some garbage. We don’t care if it puts him in the East with the Cavs - Shaq and Kobe reuniting is too good of a storyline.
Yes, we realize it’d never happen, at least from the Heat’s side of things. If you’re the Lakers you do that in a second.
(You can hear both interviews through the links at Sports By Brooks. We happened to catch one live, and pulled over the car to listen. We were late for a meeting, but it was awesome. Mamba is pissed.)

When you pulled over, how many people got off the bus?
Was he taking a shit during that interview? What’s with all the huffing and puffing?
Kobe to the Sixers for Iguadala, their draft pick, and spare parts. Kobe goes home and shows up the fans that booed him at the all-star game years ago.

DO IT NOW! KOBE TO CLEVELAND! CHAMPIONSHIPS UNTIL KOBE RETIRES!
Maybe Kobe becomes the new face of the Brooklyn Nets? I can’t even speculate as to who Jersey might have to offer
Whenever I go to sportsbybrooks, I get DDistracted.
Jerry Buss shot Mamba, but let everyone think that Mamba shot himself.
the question becomes if a Kobe trade would affect the making of Mamba.
trade him to IND for troy murphy, dunleavy and a draft pick. those guys were already good for one lopsided trade.
No no no, THIS is the trade that NEEDS to happen.

Steve,
Leandro,
Kobe,
Ronny&
Amare
Who wouldn’t watch that team? SHEEE-IT!!! Raja and Kobe on the same team!?!?! Whoo-wee at the fireworks in practice!
I can see it now: ::dunk by Amare:: ::Ronny dancing:: ALL THE TIME.
Furthermore, replace Steve’s name with Raja in the teeshirt above, and you definitely have the best shirt ever.
Is it just me, or is this whole Black Mamba trading stuff a lot more exciting than anything else happening in the NBA right now?
Could this all be a publicity stunt by ‘Black Mamba’ for the WSM? Movie????
