thanks cavalier! thanks everyone else. for all y'all's edification, my take-away regarding the game is as follows:

"a win is a win" (cavalier): not only is this almost an anagram (or something), if the cavs win it all it will surely be the tag line for the book about it churned out by pluto within 49 minutes of the final game (as in: "a win is a win: how the cavaliers shocked everyone, including themselves").

"..and the only prescription was more jumpshots" (roger): surely, when lebron finally breaks down and does teevee, this will be somewhere in the promotion. i'm thinking a light-hearted sitcom, where lebron takes in a lovable white man from the streets who, thanks to some sort of genetic illness, looks like he's 12. this will not lead to all sorts of hilarious hijinks, it will also be ironic *and* prove how far we've come since the days of diff'rent strokes.
a veritable triple-threat!

"...almost made me cry" / "don't foul him" (jephos/frank)": in my mind's eye, i see sasha running around, all energetic and "caring" and stuff...you know, the way you're supposed to play come play-off time. then i think about he is the only player on this squad that maybe could fit in with nellie and the golden states. which makes me happy. until i consider that i already have my own team, and they don't play like nellie and the golden states.

in short, it's clear that by watching de la hoya / mayweather on saturday night i was really already sort of watching the cavs / nets game. as in, both were definitely worth watching but not necessarily because they were all that interesting (except for mayweather's trainer's t-shirt, which read "mexico loves mayweather"...the golden boy was the sentimental favorite, but after i saw that i almost switched sides). though i reckon this is a point that would be more well received by the those pointy-headed u of chicago boyz on freedarko, so i'll leave it be.

thanks again!

awww... guess jason "hey, my jumpshot is falling today!" kidd didn't show up. instead, we got jason "near triple-double... and not in a good way" kidd.
they can still steal a home game from the cavs. but i hope they're not counting on lebron and co. putting up 81 points every game this series.

I was screaming 'don't foul him!' at the TV.
You know Bavetta would have called it.

1. Z was instrumental at cleaning up those dirty shots.
2. Gooden's baseline turn-around jumper is so unbelievably money.
3. Sasha's swat of Kidd was just sick. It was jump-around reeediculous.
4. His almost foul on the last Nets 3 attempt almost made me cry.

LeBron had a fever and the only prescription was more jumpshots!

98% of the time, I don't understand what they're doing, but I'm ok with that so long as they keep winning. They played good D. The O was . . . interesting, I guess is the word.
