LOOK! There’s a trophy and everything! Who knew???

2 Chazzzer June 2, 2007 at 10:49 pm

Sure is gonna be hard to fire Coach Mike!

3 UtesFan89 June 2, 2007 at 10:52 pm

What in the world got into Daniel Gibson tonight?
He was absolutely feeling it!
Here’s hoping that LeBron doesn’t need the help of the Zebras to become the star of the Finals (help that Wade needed last year).
I’m a Cavs fan for the rest of this season.

4 torsoman June 2, 2007 at 11:08 pm

Congrats to the cavaliers! Congrats to you The Cavalier! Im so happy/high right now!

5 BruinLaw June 2, 2007 at 11:12 pm

Ok…I’m going to preface this by saying…I’m a female. But I’m teary-eyed!! After 2 decades of Cavs-fan-dom, this is so sweet. I live in L.A. and I called all my family and everyone was screaming and my baby brother cried….lol

This is big for the city and huge for long-time fans.

I know its just a game and its the ECF and not the Finals but….if some semblance of success is something you’ve been (torturously) waiting for for so long…its an amazing feeling. Especially after the drama of game 5.

Go Cavs!!

6 Feruw June 2, 2007 at 11:16 pm

Wow, all it took was LeBron James, David Stern and a legion of men in gray. Congratulations on being the least credible team to come out of the Eastern Conference since the Orlando Magic in 1995.

7 torsoman June 2, 2007 at 11:26 pm

Feruw your just jealous! Dont be bitter that your precious team is fishing right now! Cavs just beat the pistons deal with it AHOLE!

8 matt June 2, 2007 at 11:40 pm

I’ll say this- the Spurs got problems they aren’t even thinking about with this Cavs team. Who the hell do you guard? LBJ? The rookie? Z? It’s is a mystery even to those of us who have seen every game this year. We’re all spun around in blissful bewilderment. Wheeee!

Why not? Cavs in 6.

9 Jack Cobra June 2, 2007 at 11:43 pm

Congrats Cavs fans. A job well done by all

10 matthew June 2, 2007 at 11:48 pm

So glad you posted that picture, Cavalier. All hail LeBron, but they guy I’m happiest for is Z. That dude has been through some rough times with this team, with his injuries, and this year with his family. Seeing LeBron jump into that bear hug and Z grinning like a goddamned fool was the best moment of the night. Hope that big Rooskie gets a ring before all’s said and done…

11 Dervin June 2, 2007 at 11:50 pm

This was the Jordanesque* performance from LeBron – his shot wasn’t falling, the Pistons were giving him nothing. And he responded by driving to the hoop, finding the open guy, getting rebounds, getting to the line. LeBron could have had a triple double, there were at least two assists where the shooter had an open shot and was fouled. And his teammates stepped up by out-hustling the pistons, hitting the open shots and hitting their free-throws.

* Game 5’s performance was LeBronian, so Gibson put on a Lebronian performance tonight.

12 LeBlog June 2, 2007 at 11:52 pm

life couldn’t be sweeter..

13 Boney June 3, 2007 at 12:01 am

Congratulations Cavs’ fans. As much as it pains me to say this (literally, I hurt my elbow after throwing my hand (we were playing poker) across the room when my buddy told me ‘Sheed got 2 Ts, and his 6th foul), Cleveland was the better team in this series, and that’s all that matters.

Good luck next round, you’re going to need it.

14 TVBrain June 3, 2007 at 12:03 am

Watch out for Detroit in Game 7. If we’ve learned anything during the Piston Dynasty, it’s that they’re at their best when their backs are too the wall.

15 TVBrain June 3, 2007 at 12:08 am

Boobie Gibson logged just over 5 minutes in the second game of the season sweep of the unbeatable Spurs. Predictably, he as 1-1 from 3 point land. He did not play the first time the Cavs beat the unbeatable Spurs.
SA. meet Boobie.

16 The Cavalier June 3, 2007 at 12:11 am

Chauncey says it was a good win for Detroit. Sheed says “RAWRRRARWARRRR!!!”

17 The SP June 3, 2007 at 12:13 am

Cavs in 5 over the Spurs.

Cavs win Game 1, Lose game 2, and sweep at home.

It’s insane but that’s the only way it can be done.

18 Boney June 3, 2007 at 12:27 am

work it TVBrain. Get out the 15 years of frustration by talking shit…

19 Feruw June 3, 2007 at 12:37 am

The kool aid is sure being consumed in mass quantities here.

At least the ratings will be higher this year

20 TVBrain June 3, 2007 at 12:48 am

I’d like to give a special shout out to Ray Allen and Michael Redd. How’s that “having your own team” thing working out?

I’d also like to welcome Feruw-sh Bag to the Boney team of commenters who criticize Cavs fans for enjoying the Cavs. You guys are a special breed.

21 becky June 3, 2007 at 12:49 am

awww…I am so happy for you

22 The Cavalier June 3, 2007 at 12:58 am

Thanks. :)

23 Boney June 3, 2007 at 12:59 am

No team of commenters here. I don’t need a team.

I’m not criticizing you for enjoying the Cavs, I simply asked you (without a question mark) to get out the frustration (of having the longest streak by a team that never made the Finals) by talking shit about my team. Congrats bro, your team beat my team’s balls into the ground tonight.

It’s ok though. If you thought I was bad, just wait until Tony Parker is in here riding you to the end of the Finals. I’m happy for The Cavalier (FiOS, and McBias too), he puts up this forum for everyone to come and talk about the Cavs, and now he can continue to offer up fun pictures throughout the duration of the NBA postseason.

24 roger June 3, 2007 at 1:04 am

HOLY FUCK! That is the only proper response to what has happened. I can’t believe it.

25 The Cavalier June 3, 2007 at 1:10 am

I can’t sleep.

26 TVBrain June 3, 2007 at 1:11 am

Boney,
I take this stuff pretty lightly. In truth, I actually like your work here. My dig was a joke because my impression of the Pistons is that they never took my team seriously. That’s all. You subtlely went for the chest-out years of frustration during our glory dig. I understand.
In all honesty, I love Detroit. My wife and 5 of my college housemates were from Bloomfield Hills. I had a phone interview for a job in Detroit this week. It went well.
I am an older person. I remember The Miracle in Richfield. I am so happy now I could burst. I ran out my door tonight and screamed into the SoCal night. Repeatedly.

27 roger June 3, 2007 at 1:14 am

Really. Can’t believe. This is just beyond my level of comprehension.

28 roger June 3, 2007 at 1:17 am

Boney’s good people. Did you watch tonight? I dropped about 50 WTFs on those near me during the game.

29 The Cavalier June 3, 2007 at 1:17 am

Remember two weeks ago when we all wanted to go strangle this team? What a turnaround.

30 The other Ben June 3, 2007 at 1:21 am

I cant feel my face.

31 Fritz June 3, 2007 at 1:21 am

Cav, if you are coming to Cleveland for the Finals, I will buy you a drink. I haven’t been this happy in my whole life.

32 Boney June 3, 2007 at 1:24 am

I watched tonight. I didn’t abandon ship like I said I was going to. I gave up on Game 5, I erased it from the DVR after watching the 2 overtime periods.

LeBron is a great player, it stings a bit that Detroit could have had one of the great players from the ‘03 draft that could have maybe kept them solid for years, but you know what, Portland drafted Sam Bowie over MJ and Michael Olowakandi got drafted #1 overall and Adonal Foyle has the most untradeable contract in the history of the NBA so… it’s not like mistakes have never been made before in the draft or the off-season before.. Detroit will be back, just like they bounced back after last season.

33 Ben June 3, 2007 at 1:25 am

You know who I am just completely thrilled for? Joe Tait. Lord knows how many bad basketball games that guy has seen. And now he gets to call the Cavs in the NBA Finals. Awesome.

34 TVBrain June 3, 2007 at 1:33 am

Ben, one of the joys of having Sirius is hearing Joe Tait call the games as I drive home. Takes me back to my bedroom and my trusty clock radio on 3WE. Listening to games in the dark.

Hats off to Danny Ferry, who drafted Daniel Gibson.

35 Ben June 3, 2007 at 1:35 am

Hats off to Daniel Gibson who only worked out with two teams (and only extensively with the Cavaliers)

the other team was the Rockets and he and his dad stopped answering their phone calls

36 roger June 3, 2007 at 1:36 am

Cav – I just gave into not understanding the Cavs and trusting in LeBron. Even tonight, Gooden decided he’d try out some no look passes and Varajoe would work on his open-court dribbling “skills”.

Boney – they will be back. Do they bring back Billups? This won’t be the last time it’s Cavs/Pistons in the conf. finals.

37 Boney June 3, 2007 at 1:44 am

roger,

The more important question is, when is the next LeBron/Orange Roundie music video coming out? We all know The Cavalier has a music library full of cheesy 80’s rock ballads that he can provide to back up the love that the Roundie has for LeBron.

38 roger June 3, 2007 at 1:48 am

I would think tomorrow right? The time is ripe for Orange Roundie!!

39 JONESONTHENBA June 3, 2007 at 2:12 am

Cavs in the Finals…OLE!

40 Jordi June 3, 2007 at 2:51 am

The first site I went to tonight. Wow. Couldn’t be happier for you Cav. If only WSM? brings you half as much joy, you will live in a world of prosperity. Congrats and good luck.

41 The Big Picture June 3, 2007 at 2:59 am

cav,

i’m happy for you. if you’re happy. they didn’t look lazy the last four games…will they keep it up? regardless, this sort of feeling is non-replicable. live it up, man!

42 The Cavalier June 3, 2007 at 6:38 am

Headed out to shoot today. Won’t be able to read anything until late this afternoon…thanks to all for reading the site and I love you Cleveland!

43 matthew June 3, 2007 at 7:25 am

Morning after, still psyched. Can’t believe that I just watched LeBron and Gibson do what the Price-Nance-Daugherty teams never did. Can’t believe Cleveland is hosting at least two Finals games!

Ben- spot on about Joe Tait. ESPN played the last 20 seconds of his game call last night and I was instantly back in Cleveland, circa 1989. So happy for that guy.

44 FearTheSword June 3, 2007 at 10:09 am

I guess I am not so delusional after all….Cavs in 6, baby, I called it…

On to the Finals…How delusional can I be this time???

congrats cav and all cavs fans… ill be rooting for you

46 The Sports Hernia June 3, 2007 at 11:05 am

I’m happy for all the Cavs fans

but I’m upset that Doug Collins and his bleached/hair eyebrows won’t be seen until next season

47 quiet cardinal June 3, 2007 at 12:14 pm

congrats Cavalier(s)! your passion has been rewarded…

48 jason kidd June 3, 2007 at 12:44 pm

To be fair, the competition was stiffer for the Price-Nance-Daugherty teams than it was this year for LeBron in the Leastern Conference. Think about who they had to play: a depleted Wizards team, the Nets, and the Pistons. All three of which basically suck. I suppose the Cavs won’t fire Mike Brown’s fat ass just yet?

49 Tony Parker June 3, 2007 at 12:48 pm

I guess the real question is did you go through the whole box of Kleenex? Does this mean you’ll be making the trip Thursday? Special shout out to Boney. I apologize for giving you crap bro. Man, that team is in disarray. They look like the ‘04 Lakers. My dream of a Spurs/Pistons Finals rematch has been destroyed. As has, presumably, the Detroit Pistons as we know them. My guess is with the lack of point guards out there, someone will make Chauncey an offer he just can’t refuse (see: Wallace, Ben). Good luck dude. Shout out to Detroit Chris M too.

Now, with that out of the way, let’s see what the people are saying:

“I’m a Cavs fan for the rest of this season.”

^Nice of you to hop on the bandwagon while it still has room, Johnny Noname. Let’s see how quick you dive off of it when the Finals start.

“I’ll say this- the Spurs got problems they aren’t even thinking about with this Cavs team. Who the hell do you guard? LBJ? The rookie? Z? It’s is a mystery even to those of us who have seen every game this year.”

^Problems? Hardly. Mystery? Not even. The answer to your questions could be sumed up in one fellows name: Greg Popovich. I heard he’s the best coach this past decade, leading his team to 3 chips (could’ve been 7 by now as previously stated). Put it this way: I don’t think there’s anything that will worry him, befuddle him, or make him question his strategy. At any point. That answer your questions?

“He did not play the first time the Cavs beat the unbeatable Spurs.
SA. meet Boobie.”

^I’m sure you’re sane enough to realize the Finals are a whole different beast my friend. We also lost to Milwaukee, Boston, and Charlotte in the regular season. Would we lose to them in a Finals too? Oh, and all this sailor spit about Tittie Gibson and how he’s the greatest ever; we shut down The Homophobic Rappers A.I. and Melo, Steve Nash, Leandro Barbosa (sp?), and a whole gang of other overrated scrubs just this year. Just sayin…..

“Cavs in 5 over the Spurs.
Cavs win Game 1, Lose game 2, and sweep at home.
It’s insane but that’s the only way it can be done”

^Delusion at it’s finest. If you truly believe that, then I got a bridge in Brooklyn im looking to lease. Just hop on your private jet and head on over to Long Island where i’ll be waiting for you to sign the official documents. Hurry now cause I got other offers to entertain.

“congrats cav and all cavs fans… ill be rooting for you”

^Hey lookie here! Everyones favorite mongoloid/punching bag is here to give his blessings. If his fandom to a particular team and left field predictions are any evidence, then this guy just jinxed your team like no black cat or broken mirror could accomplish. Cheered against the Spurs in every series: Check. Proudly predicted a Mavs/Pistons Finals: Check. He could very well be your own personal voodoo doll. Cursed I tell ya!!!111 I got something you can root for. Deez Nutz. God I used to be funny. What happened?

Note: Is it any wonder why your team and orginization got so much better in the past four years. Danny Ferry and Coach Mike have roots in San Antonio. They could very well turn you into the Spurs of the East. Shout outs to Ashley and Lauren Marie, who wished to remain anonymous, for reading my ish and hollering at me on myspace. Spurs in…..6
