The NBA Draft is Tonight

by The Cavalier on June 28, 2007 · 8 comments

So yeah – the draft is tonight, and allegedly Greg Oden and Kevin Durant are the two best players available.

We’re 36% sure that’s true, and…that’s all. What else can be said when the Hawks keep screwing around and messing with making Kevin Garnett 3-way trades actually happen?

Upsetting, to say the least, although there’s something about KG in PHX that isn’t nearly as exciting as KG in LA, now a seeming impossibility.

We’ll be back later with a more full draft/trade post, or even several – Jeff from Celticsblog is heading up some kind of simulated draft thing between bloggers and ESPN.com, and we’ve been designated to pick for both Milwaukee and Houston.

Right now we’re looking at Jerome Kersey for the former and Kenny Anderson for the latter.

(Seriously, when one guy is 7-0 and the other 6-3, their heads shouldn’t be the same size. Conley, Jr’s might actually be a little bigger. We don’t care how good of friends they are.)

I think David Stern should come out tonight at the 29th pick of the draft and say “With what would have been the 29th pick in the 2007 NBA Draft… the Cleveland Cavaliers select… Jiri Welsch!”

Oden and Conley should be in the next cop buddy team. I see Oden replacing Bubba Smith in Police Academy 20. If only Conley can make the noises like the other Police Academy cop.

Who plays the chick cop with the huge rack? I vote Sczerbiak for the Steve Guttenberg role.

29=24.

Maybe the Pistons can find another Dwayne Wade or Chris Bosh or Carmello Anthony or Josh Howard at 15.
