Shaq’s Big Challenge = Shaq’s Big Success

(Jack Cobra at it again)
It looks like the Season Finale for Shaq’s Big Challenge is this upcoming Tuesday and it has turned out to be an overwhelming success. While I was one of the people who thought the show would be a joke with Shaq as the ‘figure head’, it has been a pleasant surprise. For those of you new to the program….
Shaq took six obese children and has had his team of professionals (doctor, dietician, fitness expert, chef, etc.) work with them to a) get their weight under control, b) understand what it is to eat healthy, and c) live a healthier life. So far it has been a success as each child has lost at least twenty pounds in the first five months. While that may not seem like too much weight to lose over a period of four months there was a lot of extra work that needed to be done (getting parents on board, helping the kids truly understand) in order for the kids to succeed. Actually, in the episode last week Shaq asked his team of experts and the kids to work for four more months and in the Season Finale how the kids turned out will be revealed.
I have to applaud Shaq for putting the time and effort into a project that he really didn’t have to do. On top of that, he could have easily went about it lazily but he kept on top of things and wanted the kids to succeed. Over the course of the show, Shaq has gone from a person that wanted to change the lives of six children, to someone who wants to change the lives of every child in America by trying to have better school lunches available and more exercise throughout the school day. It’s really interesting to watch, and in a way, inspiring because it’s one man, or one group of people, trying to make things better.

In season two, Shaq takes his young recruits to the mountains of Tibet to find the secrets of Shaq-Fu.
By the way, speaking of Tibet (Nepal, whatever) Marion Ravenwood is going to be in the new Indiana Jones movie. Cool.
Eeeeey, amigo? COME ÅN!
Considering the links on the upped left side of this blog, I bet the Cav had something to do with the ref scandal. Congress needs to assemble some type of task force to check into this, a ranger corps if you will. Or at least Andrew Miller. and Andre Iguodala. Man he was robbed in that dunk contest.
Upped is either how cool kids say upper or I’m just in a hurry to go see Sunshine.
Sunshine is either the new Danny Boyle film or a profoundly creepy pet name for a fat kid. See? I just brought it back to the actual post. Full circle. Like a fat kid.
Upped rhymes with dresser. Let it be known.
Great article Jack. Now I wish that I had been watching this show all along!
Ranger Corps!
