Because we can’t bear the thought of commenting on this, we instead turn to what’s called “The 2007-2008 NBA Schedule”, which was released this morning, after being quickly re-jiggered last night to account for the whole KG-to-Boston thing.

It’s a handsome schedule, full of match-ups between various teams, all laid out according to date and location.

One standout thingie is the opening night, which features Spurs-Blazers on the 30th of October. (What an interesting date…)

You’d think the NBA would either go with a Finals rematch for the night the SAS banner gets raised, but instead they apparently want to see Greg Oden go against Tim Duncan. Cavs-Mavs is the next night to open ESPN’s coverage, which is kinda odd as a marquee match-up, as well.

All-in-all, it looks like they remembered to schedule all the games, which is always a good thing. We remember last season, when the Cavs didn’t know where they were supposed to be, so they didn’t show up for most of their games. (BA-DUM-BUM.)

Bulls/Heat last year when the Heat raised the banner. I think the NBA tries to put the defending champ against an ‘up and coming’ team on opening night. I remember after winning a title the bulls opened against the celtics since it was pitino’s first season. Celtics won that game, which was surprising since they didn’t have rondo.

Looks like Lakers and Heat are still playing on Christmas day…but against different teams, thank Rondo.
Heat-Cavs and Suns-Lakers will make my Christmas complete.

Yes, why wouldn’t the NBA want to take another drink from that bountiful TV-ratings well.

I am really disappointed the Knicks have a full schedule this year. Less games would equal more opportunity for Zach Randolph mischief and Stephon Marbury’s talk shows.
