For those of you that didn’t know already….I am just about the last person alive who cares about USA Basketball. Luckily for you, I get to write on this blog so you are going to have to hear about it from time to time. Don’t worry, I’ll try to make it as painless as possible.
So, Team USA is back practicing to prepare for the FIBA World Championships and Chris Sheridan from ESPN.com starts us off with the biggest questions as they begin camp. You know what my question is??? What will they eat? That is a lot of dudes and I’m sure they each have a type of food they prefer….how will they satisfy the different appetites of all the players? Answer that one Sheridan.
Initially the biggest concern was who was going to be cut from the team. Kevin Durant and Deron Williams made their cases the last time Team USA met and it looked like there would be some tough decisions for Coach K……then players started dropping out left and right. Fortunately, Team USA was able to pick up Nick Collison…yeah, he’s the answer. You know what, just put Reggie Miller on the team. Is it that hard to figure out? The competition is going to get into a zone and sag into the lane. Just put Miller on the team, play him 8 minutes a game and let him out-shoot the zone. This seems like the easiest decision in the world to make. Also….if you could, please teach the guys how to defend a pick and roll, thanks.
Team President/Chairman/King/Prince Jerry Colangelo had the bright idea of bringing in other NBA players to scrimmage against Team USA and they are also practicing somewhere in Vegas. I understand the concept of bringing in ‘talent’ to play against, but it’s not like these players have much international experience. Shouldn’t Colangelo be bringing in Vlade Divac, Drazen Petrovic Jose Calderon, Rajon Rondo (he’s not foreign, but he’s the greatest of all time) and David Beckham for Team USA to play against. By scrimmaging against these other NBA players all that is going to happen is….a normal NBA scrimmage. I don’t see how that is going to be beneficial. It’s not beneficial for me, I can tell you that.

well, let’s all do what’s best for JackCobra… because even though you’re the one-stop-shop for all things Erin Andrews, you are the best blogger ever invented.
we will all now bow down and tell you how we’re not worthy and stuff…
i’m surprised the NBA is willing even acknowledge that vegas even exists, nevermind dumping a bunch of players there to practice in the middle of the summer.
You know, sometimes I think we should bring in other talent for Jack Cobra to scrimmage against, but then I realize he, like Rondo, is the greatest of all-time. He is the GOAT.
What’s the NBA got to do with it?
if we’re picking teams for blogger basketball… I pick The Cavalier because he’s tall and stuff.
Is BDP pickable? I heard he dominates the Cavalier like Maxiell over Jefferson.
it’s not Maxiell over Jefferson… it’s Amir Johnson over anyone!
Well… just think what Maxiell would do!
It’s like Rondo over Jefferson now that they can match up on eachother.
for some reason, I believe that shortly before the basketball season The Cavalier will release a video which plays off of the JackCobra original joke about Rondo…
The Cavalier will release a video which plays off of the JackCobra original joke about Rondo…
If that happens I will begin to charge $10 for my autograph
