Kobe Bryant likes champagne

by The Cavalier on September 4, 2007 · 28 comments

If you think all LeBron, Kobe, et al did in Vegas was play ball and go to clubs, you’re dead on right.

TMZ reports on Kobe Bryant’s evening out at some club with some wife of his, where he bought some stuff so he could do some celebrating.

Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, were at Friday night’s grand opening of BLUSH Boutique Nightclub at the Wynn in Las Vegas, when he saw poker player Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari kick in for two bottles of $1,400 Cristal champagne. According to sources inside the club, Kobe wasn’t about to be shown up by some puny little card player — and kicked in for five bottles. Antonio, who’s used to upping the ante, then switched his order to ten! Go big or go home!

Kobe ended the competition when he purchased an astounding 15 bottles — and then left the club!

There’s nothing quite like a gossip site to get REALLY REALLY EXCITED about something. We love exclamation points as much as the next person, but that’s only one reason why we’re also REALLY REALLY EXCITED right now.

Two posts in one day, one of which (this one) is only like a half a post? And that adds up to two posts, even though it’s like one-and-a-half? Yes, we’re patting ourself on the back right now. Totally, totally.

So who drank said bottles o’ bubbly? If I was a baller I would have taken a few out and given them to the local Mr. Wendells hanging around in the alleys.

one-upping card players is really, really cool! (!)

3 Jordi September 4, 2007 at 4:15 pm

So could one say the card-player got “trumped” by the Mamba?

I love the over competitiveness of Kobe. I wonder if he made a personal DVD of the card player to know when he would be bluffing?

They Would have called that in the league!!

“TMZ reported yesterday that the R. Kelly [child porn] trial was postponed with no new date set. Now the Chicago Sun-Times is saying that the R. Kelly case will not go to trial — until the spring of 2008!”

I’m beginning to feel sick… knowing that I’m going to be invading Ohio tomorrow has gotten my stomach all queesy… all should be well though after I get to Motown Saturday…

I wish WSM? was in theatres so I could drag my Ohio family to the movies and show them how successful a former Ohio resident can be… but alas, just like the pro sports teams in Ohio all I’ll have to talk about is the potential and the “hype”.

Tigers’06=Fluke

13 Boney September 6, 2007 at 1:51 pm

06 Tigers a fluke? are you kidding me? the best pitching staff in the league was a fluke?

don’t hate that Curtis Granderson is quietly becoming a better CF than Sizemore, which is something I said before the season and fools like you laughed it off.

Aren’t the Indians up like 7 games? Is this like how Chauncey says the Pistons are really better than the Cavs?

15 Boney September 6, 2007 at 4:49 pm

I didn’t say the Tigers were BETTER than the Indians. Unless I did? Oh that’s right, I didn’t.

Detroit is still better than the Cavs too by the way. Wait until this season! You’ll be surprised!

Wait a minute. Isn’t it Friday? (checks calendar) Yes, it is Friday. Where is my Jack Cobra fix? What in the name of Rondo is going on here? I never thought I would be caught dead saying this, but we need us some Cobra.

He’s out today – I’ll try and post something tomorrow…

Tigers have had key injuries this year.

What does the Madison Square Garden think of Allan Houston’s possible return? Or that of the nearby Net Nenad? Any basketball content?

20 The Cavalier September 7, 2007 at 6:07 pm

It just watched Godzilla again and is still mad they blew him up in it.

21 Jordi September 7, 2007 at 6:24 pm

Thanks for the spoiler! By the way, Prof. Plum shot your precious snake in the Library!

22 The Cavalier September 7, 2007 at 6:38 pm

Great, now we have to re-re-re-shoot the whole movie.

23 Jordi September 7, 2007 at 9:05 pm

Not like we expected it before 1x/xx/2107 anyway.

24 Jordi September 9, 2007 at 1:37 am
