That was not LeBron’s fault

So we just got done watching LeBron’s appearance on Saturday Night Live, and it wasn’t funny.
We could’ve gone on all day about the reasons, but we felt the best way to say it was bluntly, as we did in the previous sentence.
One can hardly blame LeBron, however. He did what was asked of him, and after the notable nervous swaying-of-body during the monologue, did an admirable job. The material was simply awful.
There’s not much even worth noting, so we’ll say this - they should hand that whole show to the Lonely Island guys, so there can be more things like Laser Cats 2, which we found while looking for screenshots on NBC DOT COM.
(That’s clearly their work.)
Anyway, tomorrow begins the media days and the pictures and the other things and the NBA and the stuff - we will see you then. The rest of today will be spent wondering what a night of Chauncey Billups hosting SNL may have brought the world.
(We may do individual team previews this year, but we haven’t decided yet. If we can find a good/unique way to tackle it, we will. If it’s just rehashed garbage, we won’t.)

So the hype was not worth the final product? Hmmm… here’s hoping a certain other product ……cough….”WSM?”….cough ….. is worth the wait.
You hear people talk about SNL not being funny anymore, but then you actually see it and you’r eblown away by how unfunny it is. They had a whole summer to write those “jokes.”
I wrote a live-blog expressing just how mad I was at how lame Lebron’s performance was, but took it down because I was ranting. You may be right about the material; I didn’t think of that. But have you thought that perhaps they tried more complex skits, and Lebron was unable to act in them? It’s possible.
Yeah it’s possible, but it’s not like that show has a recent history of great material.
