Well, if there’s one thing that can drag us out of Blog Hibernation, it’s a good Laker trade.
Moreso than that, we’d say a good Pau Gasol trade is what really gets us going. It reminds us of a story we told once. Allow us to rehash:
Once upon a time, Pau Gasol was walking down the street. He came upon a kindly, older gentlemen who was selling pies his wife had baked.
“How much of the money for the pie on the left side of the table,” Pau said.
“This pie is not for sale, Pau. This pie is for me and the one who is my son.”
Pau was taken aback – never had he been denied that which he desired, especially not in his own homeland! He was determined to try again. “How much is the pie? The one I have asked you about purchasing earlier. This is the one that I still desire to put inside my head and transport to my stomach.”
The older gentlemen, while still old, was no longer kindly. Pau aggression had offended him, and so he jumped up on the table.
“I WILL TAKE YOUR ELECTRIC, INFIDEL!!!”
Pau jumped back. “Not my electric!!! NO!!!!!”
The formerly kindly man waved his arms around in vast circles, with far more gusto and violence than it appeared he had inside his frail form.
The force of his dark magics dropped Pau to his knees. “WHY DO YOU TAKE MY ELECTRIC!?!? IT IS ALL THAT I HAVE!! IT IS MY ELECTRIC!!!”
The old man completed his task, and again took his place behind the pie table. Once again kindly, he leaned forward and looked down at Pau, who was still weakened – so weakened he could barely emit words.
“Which pie is it that you want, Pau?”
Pau stared at the dirt and the Earth beneath him, trying not to think of his electric, which was no longer, in fact, his.
“Which…whichever it is…that you wish to sell to me…kindly man.”
By the way, we know everyone is all about trading Lamar Odom now, but the Lakers should definitely keep him – being the #3 or 4 guy is where he functions best. We know his salary is high, but it’s worth it.
